Sydney, Jan 27/2007 - What started out as my local Cosplay group organizing a loli themed picnic and inviting other local cosplayers and loli fans, quickly turned into what has now been called the Australasia Lolifest. Loli events were held all over Australia and New Zealand, all on the same day and the turn out was really great. Fingers crossed but we hope to do it again next year, with even more participants.

This is the outfit I made for the picnic in Sydney. I call it my Tartan & Cherries Lolita. The black fabric is covered in tiny cherries and my pendant also has them on it while the red plaid has gothic script and crowns across it.

It's very French in styling and you can blame this on me watching Marie Antoinette and Slipper and the Rose while making it. :D I had originally intended a small matching tricorn to go with it but it didn't quite work out. Maybe for the next outfit.

that is so super cute i have always wanted to dress up in lolita but i just don't know what suits me...like everyone says to do like the sweet Gothic or something like that...but i just don't know what i look like in ruffles and stuff like that cos i know i am not Gothic...But yes back on track that is amazing... i love your socks i have Pink and white ones..BUT my washing machine ATE them >.<* great costume...loving ur smile ^^; lol :+fav:
Hi there ^_^ its a nice concept for a dress but there are a couple things I'd like to critique on...
The patterns clash, and it confuses the eye...so, too much pattern, it drowns out all the lovely details.
Also, not good quality lace. Lace shouldn't be scratchy and the stuff you get from places like wal-mart.
Better accessories, like a choker instead of a beaded necklace. Or a simple chain with some sort of a pendant.
Also the ribbon on the shoes stick out way too much, the focus should be on the dress. And if you want to add ribbons then make them subtle. The reds mash together in a blend of tackiness.
Also loli's don't show that much chest, so a nice blouse underneath would be very nice. And the gloves give it a bikerish feel...so maybe you could get some gloves that are lace? Or some that don't have the fingers cut off or some that go up your arms instead of stopping at the wrist.
Good luck in the future!
